Finding the right therapist can be a difficult and overwhelming process. There seems to be an endless array of choices, and it's so important to find the right fit for you. In order to help make this process easier, I offer and encourage you to interview me over the phone, and I will be happy to answer any questions about therapy or the therapeutic process. I am skilled in working with individuals, couples and families with a variety of issues using an individualized approach.
I have been in practice since 1990 and have extensive inpatient and outpatient experience in all clinical settings. I often assist clients who are in crisis and/or dealing with stress, worry, grief/loss, caregiver burden or unhealthy habits or behaviors. I also provide services to couples and families that are geared toward helping them develop skills and insight that will improve communication and problem solving skills.
My therapy is based on a solution focused and psychodynamic foundation, but I am also familiar with and use other techniques and approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy.
For couples counseling, I base my practice on the Gottman method which is a goal oriented, structured, research based therapy that is highly effective at resolving conflict when feeling stuck, and increasing respect, affection, and closeness.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for consultation. I look forward to hearing from you.
